stufffffssss

I usually don't care for most of Band of Outsiders stuff, Its too like "Look at me I'm so dorky/fashionable because I wear glasses and also have these old man boat shoes"

(case in point)

However they actually surprised me this collection with their still slightly urban outfitter-y but off kilter looks.
Kinda like a freaky sunday school vibe?
I would wear it with these accesorries.
comme des garcons
Comme des Garcons Cardigan, Dsquared Pin, Lagarconne Shoes and lace socks.

Oh and also, someone buy me this??!

Saw Little Women the other day,

And I think I'm gonna write a novel like Jo March did. That way I can be just like Winona ( P.S. I love you)
Since you totally care and this is relevant to your life.
Also,
in other exciting news, I bought some really cool shiny/sequin-y fabric for about $$ TWO DOLLAH $$ yesterday and WHIPPED THIS BABY UP ( yes, caps were neccessary.)

Any ideas on what to wear it with?

Okay back to Winona worshiping
And with that I leave you,
Have a Great Day:)

Angsty

Okay I'll admit this post isn't directly fashion related but in my mind all the arts are influenced by each other.

Anywhoodles, I couldn't tell you why, but I am absolutley in love angsty pictures. Ones that have a sense of childlike yearning and a whimsical romanticism.

                                                                Eleanor Hardwick
By myself (of Lacey)
By Sally Mann

By Jason Nocito

                                                                 By the wonderful Eleanor.

Just ethereal, I wish I could create something like that. Oh also, check all the photographers other work, It's really interesting.

Currently listening to this guy:

Have a great Day!

Spaceships and Antiques

Thanks for the support!!!
Okay so you probably did not know this about me, but I live in a semi- rural part of Texas. I know what your thinking and no I dont have an accent, My family didnt vote for bush, we dont have guns and I am nothing like those weird homeschool kids at the beginning of Mean Girls.

That being said there are still some pretty queer things about where I live. My favorite being the spaceship. What spaceship? Well, some people made this thing once upon a time, that resembles an extra terrestrial vehicle, parked it in a field and lived in there, then deserted it.

It's even equipped with a restroom!
Isn't that cool? Even though it's been there forever I just now took a pcture of it today when I was antique shopping with my mom.
and that brings us to, THIS WEEK'S VINTAGE BREAKDOWN!!!

Sorry some of these pictures are sideways, don't really know what happened there?!

This is a really beautiful navy and white polka-dot tea length silk skirt, so soft.

 an upclose of the print.

This is a white short sleeve button down top. It's a little big but I couldn't resist the peter pan collar.

I Love this dress!!! So nineties, so comfy.
A close up of the print.

A silk Lord&Taylor leopard print blouse. $1!!!

Then I bought all these pins ( except for the cameo, the breast cancer awareness and the 1-20-09) for $2

So basically my saturday was very productive, Hope yours was too.

Oh and ignore the baby heads...Don't judge me. :)

One baby says to another I'm lucky to have met you

I am so totally thrilled about this whole grunge-y schoolgirl (a la` Hole and Nirvana) resurgence thing thats going on. Sassy, Daria and Kurt n' Courtney= '90's MAGIC!!!
This is something I plan to wear very soon:

The slip inspired dress is Marc Jacobs and I love it so much it hurts, I have to find someway to purchase it. All $1895 of it. The plaid shirt is by Anna Sui and I really love the sleeves, at the bottom it's kinda like a victorian thing, no? The backpack and boots are just very "Cool Kid" vibe-y to me.
I'll probably end up buying the Mossimo/ Thrift store version of all this but hey a girl can dream:).

NOW CUTE NAKED BABY TIME!

When memory fringes into sensory recall

As summer ends and school begins, with fall around the corner, I'm feeling very nostalgic and longing for something comfortable/childlike and familiar. Its easy to find something that inspires that feeling but hard to actually make that tangible through my outfits-I kinda want like a Virgin Suicides/Granny/Courtney Love vibe.
Georgia Jagger, Tavi Gevinson and Eleanor Harwick's ethereal photography, YA DIGGG?!

How would you style and Outfit given this inspiration.?
